7Artisans 35mm F0.95 - Giving Manual Lens Another Go

I recently purchased a budget manual lens 7Artisans 35mm F0.95 just because I was intrigued by two things - the 35mm unusual focal length (70mm equivalent in 35mm format) and super bright aperture F0.95, which I never had before. I have made a full video sharing my thoughts and mini-review on the lens, you can find the video here (click). I shall not repeat what I have said in the video here this time, I don't think this lens has much to shout about, but it is a decent performing lens for the low asking price with some noticeable flaws, but I am really enjoying the fixed 35mm perspective as well as the extra creamy bokeh of F0.95 wide open! I shall let you guys feast on some of my favorite shots from this lens here instead.

Images were shot with Olympus OM-D E-M5 Mark III and 7Artisans 35mm F0.95

  1. You got a great price on the F0.95 lens, Robin. By the look of things where I live, you probably got it for the price of the 7Artisans 35mm F1.4 model. I wonder if the vendor got mixed up, and I also wonder what the optical performance of the F1.4 lens is, whether it is sharp "wide open" or whether the sharpness only comes in at F2 or something.

  2. IMO, For the value, it is wonderful, and it is a greater amount of an imaginative focal point, permitting you to explore different avenues regarding shading cast and focal point flare since sharpness and smooth bokeh are available—no think twice about picture quality.
