Few days ago I posted a photo of Sarawak Kolo Mee. Do you really think that would be complete without the Sarawak Laksa?
Taken with Olympus OM-D E-M5 and that new awesome M.Zuiko 25mm F1.8 lens of course. That 25mm lens is just perfect for food photography. You can have a decently wide coverage, yet at the same time you can choose to do close up shooting if required.
Robin u made me wanting to get a bowl of it tomorrow morning!!!
ReplyDeletego go go
DeleteHi Robin,
ReplyDeleteGood morning, its me again. I got to eat hat as well.
Would appreciate if you can let me have the name of the shop and the location, please!
Have a good day.
I will refrain from giving the location of this shop, because there are better ones out there in Kuching. My favourite place is Chong Choon Cafe at Padungan.

Deleteyou can try Chong Hui Cafe's Laksa as well.. but be prepared for a long wait !! Just order some popiah or toasted bread and Kopi Big or Milo Big while waiting for it. hehehehe
Man oh man your food pictures are complete and utter torture. It not only looks beautiful but it makes one super-hungry as well. I already gain weight just looking at all those carbs. But it sure is gorgeous, and the new lens is absolutely a great performer. Bon appetit!
ReplyDeleteOh my, I never thought food photos would be torturing. That 25mm lens is made to shoot food photos.
Deleteis the 25mm this sharp ???
ReplyDeleteAre you expecting any less?
DeleteHey, Robin, always fun looking at the food !!
ReplyDeleteBTW, could you tell us which firmware version for the OMD-EM5 works with the 25 f1.8 to correct for color aberration, lens distortion, etc.
This lens is looking to be the one to get just want to be sure that my EM5 will take full advantage.
Thanks, David in Seattle
I would recommend using the latest firmware update from E-M5, you gain smaller focusing points! that is a huge plus especially when focusing accuracy is an important thing for me.
DeleteI did not have the chance to try the 25mm on older firmwares, but it worked well with the new one.
This looks really good!!!
ReplyDeleteIt tastes even better.
DeleteBetween you and Frankie Ch'ng, I know that I must visit Kuching for food, just after Penang. :-)
ReplyDeleteWho knows? Maybe, I'll even have a chance late this year.
Yes you MUST go to Kuching!
DeleteI can't wait to try out the new lens !! tested on EM5.. i wanna try it on my EPL5.. hehehehe...
ReplyDeleteAhlost, it works well with E-PL5!
DeleteI've been to most parts of Malaysia already, maybe I need to pay a visit to Sawarak too!
ReplyDeleteYes, you must!
Deletejust got the same lens and I love it!
ReplyDeleteGlad to know. Go out and shoot more photos!
DeleteDamn I'm hungry now! I can taste the texture of that shrimp and smell it. And the lime in the sauce!!!! Sorry, want to post more… Gotta' run to the fridge. Uh-huh, your work moves me :-)
