Early Morning Life at the Wet Market

In the lazy weekend morning, life is bustling at the local wet markets. Early morning light is usually the best for available light photography and being at a place full of activities and friendly people just gets your finger clicking the shutter button away endlessly. How can you not enjoy shutter therapy when there is so much life to see, to touch and feel, and to shoot! Was it worth sacrificing that 2-3 hours worth of morning sleep to get out there and shoot? Certainly, for whatever sleep loss I shall compensate right after I got home from the shutter therapy session, with the satisfaction of memory card filled with good sights and memories I have encountered and experienced!

  1. Hi Robin ! Am delighted to find a new entry in your blog in the mid-week !:)
The cat capture is very sharp indeed !
The 'smoke in the air ' image has the subject with very lovely light being reflected on to his face !
I was wondering why carmen finds the chillies so very attractive .....hmmm may be the color ...:)

as a side note did u test the image stacking functions in the OM-10 ? They r jpeg only ..I think but does it produce a darker image as it did in the EM-1?

    regards

  3. OMG Robin, these are such a beautiful picutres, I wish I could be as half good as you are. Did you use EM5 with 45 lense? Also, do you use Olympus viwer 3 for post processing? How do you get these fantastic colors? I have an EP5 but I guess I still have a lot to learn.

    1. Sebastiano,
For this session, I accidentally set the camera to JPEG, so everything was taken in JPEG. I did some post-processing but not with the viewer 3, and I only use that for RAW files. I used ACDsee7 and Snapseed for desktop.

    1. Hey David,
That was the Olympus 75mm F1.8! Bokeh cant get any better than that lens.

  7. Robin,
One question concerning the EM10, how loud is the shutter ? May be a quick video for this if you could would be lovely.

    1. It is not loud at all, as quiet as OM-D or any PEN.

  8. The bokeh combine together with heat from the meat make it one of the kind.. Good shoot..

  11. Great pictures robin, really great. Your review of the omd em10 made me fall in love with that camera.
I've been thinking about swithing my old nikon gear to micro four third for a long time now.
I've only got some concerns about the electronic viewfinder since I nerver used one in my life : can you really see the picture you are taking with the settings you put in the camera?
I mean, you switch the exposure compensation dial and you see the image becoming brighter or darker ? I love shooting against the sun, his would help me a great deal to get the right exposure, isn' it ?
How does it behave in very bright environment ( like shooting against the sun ) ?
Thank you and keep up the great work !!
