Recovering From Holiday?

I have just returned from a short holiday trip to Perth, Western Australia, and man I have not felt this exhausted in a long time. I feel physically and mentally drained, and I suspect something else could be happening. One day after returning from the trip, I tried making a full video for the YouTube channel. I finished filming the video, and as I was about to start editing the video I was so tired I could not even open my eyes anymore, I decided to lie down for a short nap. That nap mutated into a 4-hour sleep! I felt sluggish in the gym in the past 2 days, which was not normal at all. I shall give myself a few more days of rest to fully recover, and if I still feel the same way, I may seek medical help.

The sluggishness and exhaustion aside, I had a blast in Perth. Many of you being new here may not know this - I studied in University of Western Australia in Perth and graduated with a Civil Engineering Degree. I worked there for a year before returning to Malaysia. Perth will always hold a special place in my heart, and this trip was nothing more than just a short holiday, a break from everything which I needed so badly. I have been working non-stop, and life has gotten suddenly so busy since last November with back-to-back shoots, sponsored content on my YouTube, projects with local industry partners and all that happening in the midst of me still actively making content for my YouTube channel. So yes, a pause was just something I needed, and Perth was the perfect destination for a quick runaway from everything.

During this break, I was being careful not to over-exert myself. No heavy photography tasks, no video making, no obsession on troll comments on YouTube. I only turned on the laptop once to reply to an urgent email on the last day of the trip, at the airport before the return flight to Kuala Lumpur. I wanted to devote this time to just fully immerse myself in Perth - the places, the people, the food. I caught up with some old friends, spent time with my travelling companion, Spencer and ate too much good food. Oh, there were cups and cups of fantastic coffee too. Revisiting the old, familiar ground was fun and it reminded me of a life I used to have, a possibility of a life I could have had now.

Strangely, I did not feel tired when I was in Perth the whole time. The exhaustion kicked in the day after I returned to Kuala Lumpur. Not sure if this is psychological, but physically it is a drag to just move my feet around. I feel heavy. Even typing this blog entry feels like a chore. So, I shall stop now and continue talking about my Perth adventures in another entry. I shall dump plenty of holiday snapshots soon. Until then, off I go to another 4 hours nap.
