Out of Perth

Somewhere out there.. somewhere with the "kampung" feeling being absent from destructive modernization and drastic civilization, where the air is still fresh and green is the color you can perceive as far as the horizon stretches, and the morning sunlight reflects deeper sensation to the soul than just the astonishing golden yellow hue to the eyes.

Somewhere where freedom can be found seen evidently in the animals roaming around all over the places, care-free and as peaceful as they can be.

Somewhere where cows still continue to "Moo"

Somewhere where the horses have abundance of food and not being made slave by carrying humans' stinking ugly heavy asses on them when they walk around...

Somewhere where sheep "mengembek-embek" and wander aimlessly without worrying about the threat of wolves...

Somewhere where rabbits can snug and hug each for warmth and comfort while sleeping the the chilly morning of Western Australian winter...

Somewhere where geese can squeek so loudly until you get goose-bumps, just like a girl being chased by a ghost or being strangled mercilessly by a zombie....

Somewhere where... errrr.. God knows what creature this is, and errr.. God knows what they do...

Somewhere in the middle of no where...

A place chosen for people walking the same faith gathering together in the fellowship of Christ. A place which I have found great joy and interestingly new inspiration as well as a fresh outlook in my life. A place that has opened locked doors in my mind and heart to paths I have been seeking and yearning for so long. A place where love and peace filled the soul of many. A place where I have learned more than just Words, but the way of spirit, life and the truth. A place, I have come to find happiness.

This place, is called the Orchard Glory Farm, where, the OCF (Overseas Christian Fellowship) Winter Camp was at. I have spent the previous four days and three nights (Monday to Thursday) away from Perth.

But now, I am back.

Side note: This is the pre-entry for my series of blog entries on the OCF Winter Camp. I shall break down the trip/camp to several components and blog about them separately.

Of BBQ and Dumb Birds

Update: I shall be going for a winter camp for 4days/3nights tomorrow (26th June 2006), hence away from my precious computer and blogging activities. The winter camp is organised by OCF, its gonna be at Orchard's Glory Farm (God knows where that is) and I am anticipating loads of fun. Therefore please try your best not to miss me so much ok? I shall return on Thursday, with major updates.

Earlier on in the afternoon, me and my circle of friends from the university indulged ourselves with a barbeque lunch/picnic/party as a get together celebration for the ending of this first semester of 2006. And by now you would have guessed where the bbq was at, yeah, again, for God knows how many times have I mentioned this beautiful lovely place near my residential area as well as my Uni - Matilda Bay. The riverside park is very near, provided with the bbq equipments (with free gas and electricity), and complete with tables and benches. Where else can we look for such convenience? Not to mention the atmosphere of blue waters and green soft pastured grass would be unbeatable by any other given options.

The Landscape

The People

There were more than 15 people attending the barbeque, I could care less to count all the heads. It has been quite a while since I participated in this kind of huge gatherings, and the one thing that truly made this bbq special is the big family feeling that everyone shared by being there and enjoying the moments together. The more the merrier they say, but I say the bigger the group the bigger the party is.

More People

The Food

Afterall, this bbq was not just an ordinary bbq, it comes with everything, a complete package if you would call it. Besides almost all types of meat for the main bbq dish, we also have generous supply of beer, fruits (grapes and watermelon), chips and all sorts of other stuff. Everyone took turns to cook the meat, and I, like usual would pulled out my camera and make myself less useful by snapping unnecessary pictures randomly. No one complained, so I took it as a good sign. Everyone had awesome time.

Now, what do we do for fun besides bbq you ask? Being corrupted by the university for oh so long and being under superb intensity of pressure and ruthless all sorts of tortures inflicted upon us, our definition of fun has been significantly altered sub-consciously. Countless laboratory experiments have we conducted, and uncountable number of reports for those experiments have we produced over the years. Engineering education in UWA can do wonders in our lives.

So, may I present you an experiment that we created and tested right after the bbq.

1.0 Experiment Title: To validate the dumbness of sea gulls.

2.0 Experiment Objectives: To prove that humans are superior beings and we can dominate normal animals (such as birds) with ease by using our mass brain power.

3.0 Experiment Subjects: Sea Gulls (the most annoying and noisiest bird in the entire planet)

4.0 Theory and Hypothesis: If you try to throw something at a bird, their reaction is so fast that even before the object you throw at it flies halfway through the air, it will easily and swiftly dodge the attack. However, no matter how fast the reaction of a sea gull can be, we can slow down their reflex time significantly by providing constraints around them, and eventually we can hit them. The constraints in this experiment is the box.

5.0 Experiment Methods:
1) Find suitable baits, such as leftover bbq food, and break those baits into smaller pieces.
2) Locate a suitable position and place the baits on the ground to attract the sea gulls. In this experiment, the baits are arranged in a line leading into a huge box. Look at the picture below.

3) Get into position (suggested 4-5 meters away from the baits) and prepare empty beer bottles on hand.
4) Once the sea gull(s) enters the box, throw the bottle at hand as fast and as hard as possible onto the box.
5) If everything goes well, the bottle should be able to hit the sea gull(s), proving that they are dumb enough to risk their lives just for the sake of leftover bqq food.

6.0 Experiment Results and Discussion:

Click the video to see how the experiment turns out.

Trial 1:

Trial 2:

Well, to be honest, the birds were still too fast to be hit by any of us.

7.0 Results Summary: Two words - COMPLETE FAILURE

8.0 Experiment Conclusions: Birds may have tiny brains and appear to be dumb creatures, risking their lives for food, but you gotta admit, this experiment ultimately proves that we humans are MUCH dumber. Go figure.

Well, the moral of the story is, the university education does not necessarily make you a smarter person. It deteriorates your mind to such a level that the number dead brain cells inflicted can lead to a state of mind called PhD. (permanent head damage). So folks, think twice before sending your children to the university. Think looong and haard.

The bbq lunch and crazy experiment session ended with.....

..... me cam-whoring with Matilda Bay as my background. At least the birds can't beat us in this.

Finding Nemo in Cicerello

Far far away from the city of Perth, Fremantle is one of the most frequented sub-urbs situated approximately 30 to 40 minutes train ride duration from the central station. There are many attractions in Fremantle, including the Little Creatures (click) where the previous Perth's bloggers' meet was at, and of course anyone who knows Perth would not miss out the Cicerrelo's Fish and Chips. It is an unmistakable self-acclaimed restaurant serving the original and the best Fish and Chips in the entire Western Australia.

I do not know why but since my days in the catered residential hall I am used to eating Fish and Chips being served primarily on Fridays. Fish and Chips is one of the only few Australian local dishes that I actually enjoy and think it is worth spending my limited cash for.

Cicerello is situated at a very unique location, and it boasts of breathtaking scenery overlooking the landing for ships and the ocean view. Dining here in an open-air style with the cold breeze of Fremantle and sunset picture at the landscape, it is truly a remarkable experience. However I gotta admit that the sea gulls flooding the entire area waiting for food to be thrown at them are very annoying. Just look at the umbrellas covering the dining tables. Do you think that it is to cover the extreme sunshine or the ever oh so rare rain in Perth? I believe the reason the umbrellas are there is to provide shelter from the bird droppings !!!! No kidding !!!

Here is the food me and my friend ordered, Deep fried fish and fried squids. No chips, I am a little sick of french fries these days. How was the food? The fish was crispy from the outside, and superbly soft from the inside. The fish was superbly fresh and free from ordinary foul taste one would expect from any frozen-stored fish. Not too oily, with the right aroma and taste. This is undoubtedly the best fish and chips I ever had in my life, not that I have been to that many places yet. I gotta tell you, Cicerello's Fish and Chip is a MUST eat item if you ever drop by in Perth !!! MUST !!

Another unique trait in the restaurant is the built in huge aquariums containing all kinds of sea creatures and colourful fishes. Man, just by looking at those aquarium and the living creatures swimming inside was really enjoyable. Ok, I know I suck in naming fishes and those stuff, but heck, just take a look at some of those pictures that I have taken. Under those uneven lighting condition, my crappy cam could only produce those photos....

Can you find Nemo?? And spot Dory too??

Now I know why they chose the Clown Fish for the main character in Finding Nemo. I gotta admit it is by far the best looking, most adorable and the cutest fish there is !!! Being so shy hiding behind those corals... ohhh makes me wanna keep it as a pet. So guys, if you ever come to Perth to find me (for those who are not in Perth) I am sure to bring you to Cicerello's Fish and Chips !! You can count on that !!

About Robin

This entry is specifically dedicated to this blog, simply ROBIN. I have been blogging with Blogger for approximately half a year now, and never have I mentioned much about myself (which may not be entirely true, I reveal bits and pieces of myself in every entry) and the reasons or purposes why I blog. More and more people have been asking why I blog. Some has even made assumptions, weird and unexpected assumptions that I would not dare to describe here.

In case there are people who do not know how I look like, this is me.

Who says guys cannot camwhore? Huh? We may just fare way better than girls, and we can prove it !!

Alright, here are the reasons why I started blogging, and the purposes that I hold on to until this day, and I hope they shall stay on as long as I blog.

1) To Remember.
My thoughts and feelings are ever-changing. My favourite food for today may be something I would not touch ever again in the following week. I may laugh at this one particular joke, but I may not find that interesting at all the next time I hear it. I may find a girl attractive, but maybe she will be just like any other ordinary girls after a year of not seeing her. My point is, people change, and our thoughts, emotions and everything else will change as well. So for this instance, I want to record what I did, what happened in my life, what I have seen, the places I have been to, the people that I cross paths with, and of course, jot down what I think and feel along this journey called life. A delicious piece of cookie that I ate today will be forgotten in time if I do not make an effort to remember it. This blog is my effort of remembrance.

2) To Share.
I have so many things happening in my life, and I just want to talk to someone about it. Unfortunately, people are people, they can only listen to what you want to tell them to a certain limit, and once you talk on for more they may turn into evil monsters and eat you up. It just feels so uncomfortable inside whenever I come across this wonderful experience, or anything extra-ordinary, I feel so much to share it with another person, but sometimes, there is no one there to talk to. Therefore, this blog is a medium for me to release all those "unspoken words" and what better way to do it than blogging that creates the opportunity for your words to be heard from everywhere via Internet?

3) To Connect.
Moving on from high school to college, then to university, and now, I have finished my university, I realised how fast my life has changed, as well as the people coming in and out of it. People I used to call closest and best of friends are now scattered all around the world, and believe me, this world is not small. I have been nudged to form new circle of friends, which I have been of extreme fortune to bump into another set of wonderful friends. However, now that I am in Perth, I can feel that the connections are loosening up and it is undeniable yet sad fact that people will leave our lives. I take a deep look at my network of friends, I gotta admit it is not as beautiful as I hoped. And they will turn to worse if I do not do anything about it.
Blogging, is a way to connect. I have made many friends through blogging, you know who you are, and I feel truly fortunate to know all of you. It feels more assuring and secure knowing that people notice you and care about what you feel and think. People living ordinary lives often overlook the small matters of others and remain ignorant. I find this situation rather the opposite in blogging atmosphere. We connect through blogs, we keep in touch through blogs, we share feelings, thoughts and I believe, friendship through blogs. Blogging is the new social networking skills.

4) To Photograph.
Since I bought my first digital camera, I have fallen deep and hard into photography. I have taken so many photos that they are eating up the space of my hard drive. You see, the great passion of photography is not only being able to capture a good shot, but also being able to share it with other people. Blog provides a space for me to publish my photography works, though they may be crappy now with my crappy camera and crappy skills, but this is something that inspires me to practice my photography skills knowing that people will see my work and comment on it. It is rewarding to receive positive comments about the work, and these constructive feelings are the elements that I seriously need from time to time to keep myself on the feet and walk on.

5) To Shine
There are happy times and sad times in our lives. The happy moments are the times that I would always look back and remind myself of whenever I am down with horrible trials and tribulations. Those happy moments, will be such a waste if I do not spread it !! I am always fascinated with simple and small things that happen every now and then. I believe if we slow down out steps and take a good look around, those small and simple things that bring joy to our lives are just there. By noticing them, and appreciating them, one can truly find the happiness, and most importantly, the strength to go on in life, no matter how difficult it may be. With this blog, I share those moments of happiness, and may those strength I have found in those happiness shine through this blog and I hope that somehow people will leave my blog feeling satisfied and contented. If people can somehow smile after visiting this blog, I would feel that my purpose of blogging has been fulfilled.

So there you go, my main reasons and purposes for blogging. No, I do not blog for fame. I do not blog for money. This is more of a personal blog. This blog actually reflects who I am, and I have poured out so much of who I am into it. However, do not be foolish enough to think that you would fully know who I am just by reading what I choose to write. There may be so many things that I reveal about myself, but please be reminded that I create and shape this blog, not the other way around.

Blogging has become of something like a ritual to me. I do not know where the motivation comes from, but there is an urge to do this, and the urge has been constantly persistent. Something tells me that I will be blogging for a very long, long time. For all of you who do read this blog, I am truly thankful and I wish you all well. If there are any other questions about this blog you may wish to address me, please feel free to do so in the comment section.

In the Awe of Four

First off I gotta apologize to Irene (click) for delaying this tag for so long. I have been rather busy with exams and thesis and everything else... I'm just super glad that everything is over now. Like I promised, I would get to this tag when I have more free time.

This tag is another one of the random meme that requires the blogger (or victim) to come up with thoughts and answers to some random questions. Man, I wonder if my life is truly that random at all...

Here goes.

Four Jobs that I would stink at:

1) Anything to do with cooking or preparing food. Robin is a terrible cook.
2) Anything to do with water. Robin is a bird, he flies, he does not swim.
3) Anything to do with sports. Robin hates sports.
4) Anything to do with computers. Robin has wronged computers in their past lives.

Four nicknames I am making up for myself:

1) Hamish. Only close friends know what this means to Robin.
2) Pembunuh Upahan. Counter Strike nick. Man, do I miss that game.
3) 7thknight. DOTA nick. Still using this on current days. Pawning people is so sweet.
4) Robin Hood. Well, is that not obvious?

Four movies I have watched over and over:

1) The Matrix. "There is no spoon"
2) Braveheart. "Every man lives, not every man truly dies". Wait..... was it the other way round? Hmmm..
3) The Lion King. "Hakuna Matata !!! There is no worries for the rest of the days !!"
4) Robin Hood: The Prince of Thieves. "Everything I do, I do it for you.."

Four things I love to do on my weekends:

1) Blogging !!! Duh..
2) Random photography, at random places.
3) Window shopping.
4) Hanging out with friends.

Four TV shows I geek out to, or used to geek out to:

) Smallville. OMFG !! Tom Welling is so sexy... Ahemmm.. I mean Kristin Kreuk... Never mind..
2) Charmed. Who would not love the ability Piper possesses, being able to freeze the time whenever she chooses to?
3) Desperate Housewives. Oh Goodness.. Gabrielle Solis/Eva Longoria... Slurrrp..
4) The OC. Mischa Barton... Gasp...

Four things I could not live without:

1) My M:robe mp3 player...
2) My laptop and the Internet. No blogging = unhappy Robin = not good.
3) My Digital Camera. Photography has become a part of my life now, though I suck in it.
4) My 2.1 Philips speakers. I need good doze of loud sound every single day, or I might breakdown and go crazy.

Four of my favourite food:

1) Char Kueh !!!
2) Tomato Kueh Tiaw or Noodles !!
3) KFC...
4) Gubak Mee from either Green Hill or Open Air Kuching.

Four Places I would want to be at right now:

) Kuching, Malaysia. HOME !!!
2) Paris, France. Sil Suffisait Daimer?
3) London, UK.
4) New York, US.

I am in tremendous mood now my uni life is over, no, I am not tagging anyone this time. See, Robin is such a good boy. Oh boy I hope I wont get another tag for a long long time.

Freedom !!

Finally, after all the sweats, all those sleepless nights, all those skipped meals, all those hard labour... it has all come to an end.

Sat for my very last paper in Uni this morning, and boy, you guys have ho idea how I felt right after I handed in the paper !! I think I did fairly well this time around, but I have significantly lowered my expectations for the exam outcomes. Aim low, achieve your goals, do not get disappointed.

Gosh, no more lectures, no more assignment, no more projects.. no more exams !!! In short... no more Uni !!! Wooooo Hoooooo !!!!!! You hear that?? No more fucking Uni for me !!

YeeeeeeaaaaHaaaaaaa !!!!

For now, I shall sit down laze around for a while. Man, I love the feeling of not doing anything and not worrying about anything. I miss freedom. And now I am free once again !!

I have a series of activities, errands and a few rather interesting stuff to be achieved in the coming weeks. I shall reveal more in my coming entries. Until then, I shall tend to my much needed rest to compensate the lost times of sleep in the past few weeks. I shall recover fast.

Guys, watch out, for Robin is back blogging like usual and rocking the blogosphere !!

The Mysterious Visitor

Since I moved in to this house outside the residential hall I used to stay in for almost a year full, there have been a few constant visitors coming to my house from time to time. Of all the usual suspects, there is however, one very unique visitor, and whenever I see this visitor, I will gladly open my door and hoping that she would come in and "play" with me.

I do not mind if she wants to stay as long as she wants. She looks rather gorgeous. The way she walks, oh boy... so very gentle and smooth, unlike the girls nowadays who would be clumsy and aggressive like elephants rolling down a hill. The expression on her face is of curiosity and innocence, and her smile is worth staring at. She is rather quiet, unlike the girls nowadays who would talk out at such extreme volume like they have 500 Watts RMS amplifier installed in their throat or something.

She is always welcome to my house, though I believe she lives nearby. This is a friendly neighbourhood after all. Now you may ask, why blog about her? What is so interesting about her?

Well, the answer is mainly because she has been rather shy since the first time I met her. She would not let me take pictures of her. But this time around, we have seen each other on more regular basis, and she has let her walls down. And she even dared to have her beautiful body being photographed, with no cloths on.

Here are the photos....

Jeng Jeng Jeng..

Isn't she so adorable? Puurrrr.....

How did I know its a she you ask me? No, I didnt know, and I didnt bother to find out, but I would like to assume its a she. No harm in that whatsoever.

I love cats, so much more than a dog. MEOW !!!!

In the Park Nearby

I have two papers down, one left to go.. yeah baby !! After that, it is total freedom. I tell you, FREEDOM !!! Free like a bird...
Until then, this blog shall remain rather passive, and I sure hope to get back to normal blogging pace right after that last paper !!! So in this entry, I shall minimise my words, and just focus on photographs.
All the photos were taken at the park near my house: King's Park. I just had to move my huge heavy ass out of the house and bring my cam along for such wonderful and rewarding photography experience. No, I am no professional photographer, far from even to be called an amateur. But with a camera in hand and the park near my house, I figured why not take some time off and let photography be the de-stress therapy?
The Greens
Though its winter now, it is not cold enough in Perth for all the leaves to fall... green is still pretty much everywhere. With such cool weather, looking at the greens is definitely something soothing to the mind.

The Flowers

It is definitely not a season for flowers now, spring will come soon, 3 months away. But still, some lovely flowers can be spotted there and here.

The Birds

There are many birds actually in King's Park, but my camera lacks the zoom power and resource to capture good shots, unless the birds land on the ground, like the following one. Go to my previous post on Birds (click) to find out more.

Man, if only I have an SLR.... if only.... there are so much to photograph here !!! And for someone who loves nature and landscape beauty.. King's Park is paradise !! All those above are just a small part of King's Park... more photos coming soon when I have the whole day just to go out and photograph till the memory card is full and the battery ran out of juice.

Those days will come soon.. ohhh soon...

Two Movies at the Price of One

I have had it, I have had enough. All those stress and frustrations over exams. Barely survived the past two days, boy, am I glad I have some space now.. 7 days exactly before my last paper. So I decided to forget my exams temporarily and do something entertaining for myself, just for today, a one day thing only.

So, I went to the Hoyts Cinema City, Perth, the crappiest of all cinemas in Perth yet the nearest one to where I stay, and bought myself a ticket for The Da Vinci Code. I have been wanting to watch the movie, and since everyone including myself have been rather busy lately, I decided to watch it alone. Like I said in the previous entry, Robin is after all a lonely bird, always flying solo. Sigh... Sigh....... SIGH !!!! Alright, it was less depressing than the way I put it, trust me, all went well, and there are times that I seriously need to be alone.

How was the movie? Everyone has spoken about it, debates have been raged all over the world, and interestingly I find the movie rather... dull and unsatisfying. I have read the book, like many people who have, I believe the movie did not live up to the expectations. Tom Hanks was a total dissapointment, he just lacked the charisma of the Robert Langdon character, and failed miserably to bring out the passion of the movie. The other actors were just so and so, but I do love Ian McKellen's cunning and deceitful role. Since I have read the book, about two years ago, I guess it just killed off the fun part of the movie - Suspence. I already know the entire story, and the movie stayed surprisingly faithful to the original plot, though it did not fare that well in bringing out the powerful atmosphere I felt while reading the book. You may say that a picture is worth a thousand words, let alone a moving picture, but sometimes, well elaborated words can spawn greater and grander imaginations, as well as strong emotions that the readers can perceive at a much higher level.

Now what is with the noise and fuss that this movie had caused all around the world? To many, especially Christians, this movie displays many wrongful messages and may very well lead to misunderstandings and unwanted questions regarding the faith and truth in the religion itself. Messages that question the authenticity of the Bible, the marriage of Jesus Christ, and the worst I believe, would be the immortality of Christ. People have talked loud over these matters.

So, what does Robin think?

It is, afterall, just a movie, and a book. A story, a fiction if you like, written by a person named, Dan Brown. Nothing more than that. So why worry so much? Why worry that people might actually believe the fiction? Heck, even kids can tell that Power Rangers, Ultramen and Pikachu are not real. The point I am trying to get here is.. the Da Vinci Code is just a slightly above average movie that delivers a rather intriguing side of story about religions and history. Undeniably, there are bits and pieces of facts there and here, and somehow the dots are beautifully connected and the missing links are filled with assumptions and of course.... FICTION. That was the selling point of the story. The baseless assumptions and conclusions drawn from scattered information that may or may not contain sufficient supporting proof. Allow me to give an analogy. Leonardo Da Vinci was after all a man, and an artist. If he has painted Jesus as a three eyed monster in one of his great works, would you have believed that Jesus was a three eyed monster? You can go and swallow half a bottle of vinegar if you say yes to that.

Some of the photos I took around the waiting area... is it illegal to bring a camera and snap around like that?? Hmmmm....

On the whole, I felt a hint of dissapointment, since I have been anticipating this movie since the day I finished reading the book. Left the cinema hall unsatisfied.. I rested my huge heavy ass on one of those comfy seats outside and just lazed off for a little while. As I observed the people walking around... I thought of something.

Usually there will be the ticket eaters waiting for you to chuck you ticket right up their nose standing at the place on the picture above... the entry to the waiting area... but surprisingly no one was there that time....

There was no one collecting the tickets at the entry level of the cinema. I do not know why, maybe they got sucked into a portal that transports them to another dimension or something... strangely.. without anyone guarding the entrance to the cinema, with me already inside the waiting area... there was nothing to stop me from going in another cinema hall, was there not?

Now everyone, laugh wickedly evil with me....

Muahahha Muahaha Muahahhahahhahahahhaa !!!!!

Check out the design of the trusses on the ceiling... sparkling shiny spanning all over the places.. ahh only a civil engineering student like me can appreciate such beauty...

And so I went in another cinema hall... without knowing what movie will be shown, and what time it will start. Fortunately it was not Da Vinci Code again, this time was.... the Cars !!! Yes, the 3D Animated movie... I call it, a cartoon. I was rather dissapointed at first.. you see, I have no passion for cars. Sexy sport cars do not make me drool. I have total Erectile Dysfunction blindness when it comes to car.... no car in this world can turn me on. Call me weird, call me a misfit.... but I just do not get what is so cool about a car.. just something with wheels.. serves the purpose as a carriage.. sheessshhh. So you see, I have never watched movies like Fast and Furious or anything of its likeness. Heck, now I am watching a cartoon of cars??? Kecelakaan besar !!

Since it was something "free" and I did not even pay for the ticket to be sitting there.... I decided to stay on... after all, you do not get free stuff every day.

Well well well.... what did I know... I loved the show !!! Seriously... it was like... amazing !!!! I do not know why, but somehow none of the Disney Animation has ever dissapointed me before. Though I hate cars.. but the movie is sooooo much more than just cars. The storyline is awesome, packed with humour all along the way, and the animation is nothing short of breathtaking. There was so much life in the characters, though just animation, and they felt so real, and I could unexpectedly relate the story and happenings in the scenes to my own life !! The movie has got the emotions flowing, heck, this may sound awkward, but there is definitely chemistry between the Lighting McQueen and the Porshe. I swear I could have cried out loud if no one was sitting around me when Lightning was leaving the town and his crush, Porshe and back to his huge race. Call me sissy, but... Oh boy... that part was heart wrecking !! I could not believe I just said that, but it was true.. and it felt so deep. Disney never failed to bring magic out of their animations. This is the same deep emotions I felt back then when Mufasa died and Simba tried to wake him up in The Lion King. I cried back then too.. hey.. I was only 9 years old when I watched The Lion King ok?

I think this movie, Cars actually carries many meaningful messages. People can so much lust and chase after power and status that they would actually intentionally push aside away many things that are precious and important in their lives. Ego and pride can very well cause self destruction and corrupt one's soul. I have seen quite a number of good friends turning away just to go that extra mile, just to be better than anyone else, just to be on top of everyone. The question here: Does being the best really matter and is it worth sacrificing friendship over it?

For those who know me well, I chose friendship. I held on to friendship, regardless to circumstances, and I treat friendship as something sacred. To me, there is nothing more satisfying and rewarding in the world to have good, and true friends. The true friends are my treasures, and I shall hold on dearly to them, for they provide me with every good reason to breathe and live on.

One important lesson I would like to share with everyone here from Cars: What is the point of extreme winning/success if there is no one to celebrate with? Would not it be better that you have friends to walk with you, no matter what circumstances you are in, and be there for you, sharing joy, laughter and happiness when you need them? i just do not understand some people, why would they throw all these away, just for the sake of power, money and status. At the end of the day, we still need people, and one can never truly survive alone. Even till the day a person dies, he still needs someone to bury the body, or burn it to ashes.

After the Cars, I felt rather light and contented. I was happy I decided to stay on and watch the second movie, which little was I expected to enjoy it so much !! Cars kicks the butt of Da Vinci Code big time ! Afterall, you do not get free movies often. I wanted to stay on for even more, but as I got out from the second movie, it was getting rather dark.

View of Perth from the Hoyts Cinema City...

I gotta admit, this has been a rather exciting and unusual day for me. Heck.. maybe someday I should do this again... go for a movie marathon, but with a price of just one ticket.... hopping from one cinema to another after each movie !! Anyone care to join me?

Side note: I am still under the busy mode, preparing for my exams. Sorry for not replying all the messages and visiting the usual blogs as often as I usually would... but I promise I shall get back on track as soon as my last paper ended.
