The P10 will only warn you if you block the main lens in-use. i.e. if you are shooting colour, blocking the monochrome sensor will not give you any warning and vice versa. I'm not sure if this is the case with P9.

Having said that, from my brief test, the monochrome sensor can improve the dynamic range too and you are right about the improvement in overall sharpness. However, it's not really significant unless one pixel peeps. The second sensor does not effectively translate twice the amount of light into the final photo as reported by gsmarena. You can try that by blocking the second sensor.

davidletterboyzUnknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00002678802715048760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19035680.post-83033862667824259482017-05-25T01:32:34.809+08:002017-05-25T01:32:34.809+08:00Hi Robin,

But not in a smartphone, sure connectivity and an all in one package is a nice thing but there have to come up more cameras in the payable range with BW sensors. Nonetheless great gear this P9. Do you have DNG Files for Download? I want to compare with my trusty Lumia 950 with excellent Zeiss Lens and a surprising OIS,also good Sensor in Low Light (much better than S6/S7 or iPhone 6) also DNG is possible. And the Lumia Camera App from now Microsoft is a breeze to use.
