I was supposed to take photography lessons to further my knowledge of photography - I started with SLRs but completely forgotten about how to operate a camera after years of using point-and-shoot. I realized that the only way I can relearn (and more) is probably by going out there and start snapping away. I know there's still room for improvement but, I now feel more confident using a big camera again.Alanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16082067824405128127noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19035680.post-51391020230069024762013-12-10T13:32:24.726+08:002013-12-10T13:32:24.726+08:00Well said Robin. But that may be because it took me out of my comfort zone.Tomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09361588881527192563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19035680.post-77008275152532773372013-12-10T13:30:40.448+08:002013-12-10T13:30:40.448+08:00Cat's "converse" mainly with eye con...Cat's "converse" mainly with eye contact. Pay atention to how your emotions react and you'll be likely to create something new and interesting. I must admit to spending a bit too much time on the former, and neglecting the latter!Brad Chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16469774713190868190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19035680.post-4080591218235656192013-12-06T11:19:28.738+08:002013-12-06T11:19:28.738+08:00Excellent advice, Robin, and I think your philosop...Excellent advice, Robin, and I think your philosophy holds true even beyond street photography, I really like the photo "Curios" of the kitten!GreggMack54https://www.blogger.com/profile/01438887635697732454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19035680.post-76575578681703592932013-12-05T19:38:20.445+08:002013-12-05T19:38:20.445+08:00Well written Robin! Though my subjects are rarely people (except family gatherings) when I have a camera with me I usually have no idea what I am looking for. It's sort of like "I can't tell you what I am looking for, but I know when I see it". It's actually that kind of thing that makes me feel (at least from time to time) that I have some creative juices in me. I especially like it when people who were with me see the pictures and say, "Gee, I didn't see that" :-)Peter F.https://www.blogger.com/profile/15358240600634062387noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19035680.post-58550198238093752632013-12-04T23:33:10.282+08:002013-12-04T23:33:10.282+08:00I picked up a DSLR 6 years ago but learn by trial ...I picked up a DSLR 6 years ago but learn by trial and error, never attended any classes or learn from anyone.
