Nice. Though I don"t get it why the city is cold. I do not see ice and snow. It"s -6 Celsius here at home right now, that's cold! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Tobias !! Cold was my description of its culture and people, not the actual temperature !
DeleteNice image Robin! Got a new camera & lens?
ReplyDeleteOh, and Tobias is right. We have only -1C at the moment, but that's much colder than anything I experienced in Malaysia. Plus - until now I found your country very warm, welcoming, and friendly. Ok; didn't spend too much time in KL, and driving there is a nightmare (I didn't have any navigation when I did) ;-)
Hello Wolfgang,
DeleteIt was an old image I took during my 17mm F1.8 review a while ago, thought I would present it in a blue-ish colder tone to reflect how I feel about the city.
Love it! :]
ReplyDeleteThanks !

ReplyDeleteLove the photo!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I like this one too, hence I posted it again, but with different processing.
DeleteRobin - Do you use Olympus Viewer 2 to interpret your Oly files?
ReplyDeleteHey David,
DeleteI normally do use Viewer 2, but for this image it was photomatix for the HDR processing.
i can really understand what you mean... but everyone makes a difference. And it starts from within.
ReplyDeleteBtw, i bought the 17/1.8 lens and love it. :)
Agreed with what you mentioned, everyone matters.
DeleteOh my, 17mm F1.8 !!
PEN E-PL5? Your new camera? Nice phoyo, btw...
ReplyDeleteChong,
DeleteNope, recycling an old photo hehe.

Hey Eric,
DeleteThanks ! I thought it was pretty cool too !!
Hi Robin, may i know where is the vantage point you were to capture KL view??Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeleteOne of the low cost apartments in Jelatek.
DeleteHi Robin.
ReplyDeleteNice scene with a matching header.
I think those who are here would understand the meaning
DeleteVery, very well done. I like the colors and ambiance. I recognize quite bit of the skyline, but there's a lot of new construction, I think.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words !! The color was being altered, the original scene was more "golden" like, warm like sunset would be. I just thought the blue tone would represent my own vision of the city better.
DeleteYes, surely more buildings have been erected. KL is surely changing fast.
I thought maybe you selected tungsten white balance or so, to make it more blue. That's special processing? Interesting. I've been to KL many times in the past (7-8 years ago) and I miss it :-(
DeleteWe'll do shutter therapy one day there, and I'll buy you dim sum :-)
Do come to KL !! Will bring to you to some of the best dim sum places !
DeleteI added blue cast to the image, and also manipulated it with tone-mapping in photomatix. I think the image is overcooked. but it was as I have imagined it to be.
That's a deal, one day we certainly will do that. I'll bring the Highest Authority (my lovely wife!) too. Red alert in the various dim sum kitchens, I can assure you, as we are both notorious when it comes to dim sum. One condition: the day will be my treat. You can have all the water you want while we have the delicacies, haha.
DeleteI wouldn't say the image is overcooked - in fact the skies and skyline are quite impressive. And, it matches your artistic vision, and that's all that counts. Photography is certainly not about "only" reality. Even Ansel on occasion dodged and burned as if there was no tomorrow. Nah, this is great work!
True, the image should be about the photographer's reality !! Looking forward to the day I meet you and your wife !
DeleteGreat skyline and clouds. I would correct the image's slight tilt to the left anyway.
ReplyDeleteCheers !! The slight tilt, was intentional. The out of balance feeling I wanted to inject. It is not overwhelming, yet it is evident, as if something was wrong. Not everyone will agree to this, but I thought it worked with the image's theme.
Deletethanks for share..
