That's one fine lens indeed. Sharp, with nice sharpness falloff. The bokeh seems nice to me too. A worthy addition to the arsenal!
ReplyDeleteIt is indeed a worthy addition !! Cheap, and very good optics.
DeleteOne more year, and we will see Robin jump ship to Sony Full Frame...
ReplyDeleteMaybe, maybe not !! We shall see
DeleteYep, it's a real gem, I quite enjoyed mine while I had it (it got sold on over the summer along with the rest of my DT lenses). So's the 85/2.8 SAM (and the 85 is a full-frame lens).
ReplyDeleteAaahhhh 85mm F2.8.... at this rate I think the Olympus might just get neglected !!
DeleteBrilliant and warm, but then again, I could use those same words for the photographer.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rev! Now I am feeling bright and warm already !
DeleteRazor sharp! You must have been very near to the subject!
ReplyDeleteYes Johan, I was very near indeed.
DeleteRobin, I completely agree with you: it's the single reason that I'm using Sony Alpha system now.
ReplyDeleteI had Olympus before (since E500) with great lenses (ZD12-60mm and ZD50), but the one
thing that I felt missing was decent standard prime. I'd switch to m4/3 if
we could get a similar lens to Sony 35mm DT (and similar price). 20mmF1.7 is
great, but a bit too wide for me. Leica 25mm F1.4 is perfect - but more expensive.
Anyway: great blog and keep posting.
Hey Marcin,
DeleteI know right, that Panasonic 25mm is just too ridiculously expensive !! The Sony costs so much less.

ReplyDeleteHi Robin,
ReplyDeleteI'm a your fan and I'm a newbie in photography. About 1 yr, only this time I'm shooting more often.
So I still have a LOT to learn I guess. I use Sony A33 and newly bought OMD EM5 (with 12-50 kit).
I have Sony 50mmDT and used it more often. Probably I have some nice pics but
I cannot achieve the sharpness of your work. The bokeh is good, the color is good
but I am lacking some sharpness. I tried to remove the NR, it did sharpen a little but
trade off is some noise. Can you give me an advice?
Thanks!
