This humble blog of mine has reached 3 Million visits just a few minutes ago. I remembered it took me many years to accomplish the first million, which happened earlier this year, and in less than one year, this blog has grown with another two million visits !!
To all you beautiful readers out there, I thank you, from the bottom of my heart for supporting this blog, and staying with me. Life is indeed full of ups and downs, but with this blog and all you beautiful people out there, I find a few more reasons to smile and walk on.

Your blog is doing the same for us Robin, thank you for spending time with the photos and to write it. For me it is often the encouragement and motivation I need to continue and take another photo. Thank you!

ReplyDeleteThanks Sarah, it was a pleasure.
DeleteYesYes, great blog!
ReplyDeleteIn fact, your blog (you) pushed me to fall in love with Olympus cameras again (I'm a longtime user of Oly microscopes - and never doubted their quality, however on the camera front, I couldn't say the same thing (their lenses have been top quality all along). Now thanks to your influence, I'm insanely addicted to the thought of buying an OM-D with some of Oly's best lenses (only the top quality: 45mm, 12mm, the new macro .. hehe). Since I will never have to change camera (the OM-D I'm an amateur and I believe people make winning photos not cameras), this camera should last me easily at least 50 years :) from next year or so, I can just focus on new glasses for new experiments :)
Also wrote you an email (don't know if you check your emails under "contact me").
best regards,

Thanks JE !

One of your loyal fans.
Don, the old-timer, and loyal Olympus users from America.
Thanks so much Don !!
DeleteWell done Robin - I have been following your blog daily now for the past few months, and very much enjoy not just your images but your views on photography. So very refreshing. I have to say your love of Olympus and M4/3rds moved me to buy firstly the EPL3, shortly followed by the EM5. The prime lenses which accompany these two cameras are superb and a real joy to use. So thank you for your inspiration. Best wishes for the next 3 million!
ReplyDeleteHello Alan,
DeleteThanks so much for the kind words, and your constant support. Glad to see that you are enjoying the micro 4/3 system, and surely those prime lenses can do wonders !!
Dear Robin,
ReplyDeleteCongratulation for your achievement. You have such a wonderful and inspiring blog. Thank you for sharing your photos and your thoughts on photography. You always see thing from different point of view, and that makes your photos different from others'. I like your simple technique and gear choice. That's make man behind the camera is the key. I always learn from you shot, since you've made wonderful photos from simple gears.
I'm a microbiologist living in Lombok Indonesia and I'm a heavy fans of Olympus Microscope System. But for photography, I use Olympus C740 UZ (very very old Olympus digicam). When you have time, please go visit Lombok. It's just 30 minutes from Bali (I saw you shot in Tanah Lot Bali) and do you shutter therapy in Lombok.
Enjoy your achievement.
Cheers,

Hello Banbang,
DeleteThanks for the kind words. I visited Bali very briefly on an assignment: I was shooting a destination wedding for two old friends, hence I did not have much time to go around and shoot/explore for myself. I shall return to Indonesia one day when I have enough cash and spare time, and believe me, I will attack your beautiful country with my camera !!
Thanks Robin for this awesome blog of yours!
ReplyDeleteApart from facebook, robinwong.blogspot.com.au is another website i visit daily.

ReplyDeleteThanks Denton !!
DeleteLooking forward to doing more reviews in the future too.
Hello Robin,
ReplyDeleteCongratulation on hitting the 3 million visitors and more to come.
Personally I would like to thank you for sharing your meaningful images and personal photography thoughts which had enriched me one way or another. Since I first seen you with Eric Kim (one of my indirect sifu beside Thomas and Alex)on Youtube talking about OM-D, your blog really open my mind to what photography is. I am always a candid shooter though. I just love the human in action. In my heart and mind, you are one of my indirect sifu right here in Malaysia. I have done many mistakes as I am a trial and error shooter but your blog always have some gems that can solve some my mistakes. A BIG thank you to Robin Wong.
The another big plus is your introduction to Michael Freeman's The Photographer's Mind. This book really touch something inside me to think before I press the shutter. Thank you.
Lastly, if your blog can move someone like me, a trial and error shooter, itchy to try new ways to capture what I desire and most of all love to shoot anything that attracted me, how much more this blog will touch those who really in photography as their major. I can see more will search for 'Robin Wong' in Google search.
May you have a great day. Happy shooting.
John Ragai
Thanks so much John for such encouraging remark and positive comments. I am truly thankful to have you as my reader/audience, making my blogging and shooting seem very worthwhile !!
DeleteI did what I can to share my photos and thoughts, there really is nothing more than that. I am just an ordinary guy, perhaps a little bit obsessed with my own little world called "shutter therapy", but hey, it has been great to me, and I love to share the joy.
That Michael Freeman's book is a recommended read, he has got other great books too which I have yet to explore.
Keep shooting John !!
Hi Robin:
ReplyDeleteA well deserved congratulations to you on the new Mark in site readership, and on the variety of photo topics you explore (macro, landscape, wedding, portrait) and also lots of street photography. Great photos and best as well, good writing as to the ideas behind the photos always make a good read on a regular basis. Maybe in a few years perhaps you could find a book publisher for the Best of Robin Wong's photos and include your philosophies in capturing photo art. The publisher may print if for you (with royalties for you), considering your loyal readership (now in big numbers). Just a thought!
For your Blog and your Shutter Therapy: We all appreciate the efforts you make to provide new content each week!!
Thanks Adrian for the words of encouragement. I surely do have plans (not so soon though) on writing a book. That would be great !! Until then, there is plenty of work to be done, gotta keep improving and get better in the game.
DeleteGreat achievement!
ReplyDeleteAll that hard work payed off, plus you seem like a straight up sincere person and people like that a lot (as 3M views reflect). Keep doing what you do!
Best regards.
Thanks !! That is very kind of you to say those kind words.
