Flow Against The Tide

It was one unexpected event, that I was quite surprised to have stumbled upon. It was an awkward evening, full of familiar faces from the industry which I have been gravitated into, but at the same time, I have an entirely alien outlook towards the whole scene.

The truth is, I have not felt so out of place in a long, long time.

Photo taken from Mau Horng, the official photographer for the event.

I am walking againt the tide. Let me drown, let the giant waves crash on me. I will still go against the tide. Why? For the sake of being who I am, and staying true to myself.

If you did not get the whiff of my current state of mind, kindly read here, here, here and here for the big picture.

  1. This "official" photo is ugly, Robin. I think the white balance is way off.

  2. Hey Bartosz,
Yeah, that is the reason why I chose not to attend the entire function.

  12. ah, I see. I really felt out of place there too. But maybe the reason because I'm the youngest one there. haha.

I am wondering, why do you choose to go against the flow? Any specific reason?

  13. hey keith,
You do not have to feel out of place because you are young. I admire you, because you go forth with your passion, even at such tender age.
I do have quite a few reasons to go against the tide. Nonetheless, it would be too lengthy to describe here.
The answers are all in the four links I have disclosed in the last sentence, written by a photographer whom I have come to respect: David Chua. Do give what he wrote a read, and you will get the whole picture. Nothing is what it seems, especially in Malaysian Wedding industry. Quite sad actually.

  14. I have read them. It's quite depressing, but I still hope it's not entirely that bad, where there are still photographers who are not so unscrupulous. :)

  16. hey Keith,
Of course, not all photographers are like that. But, generally, the trend of Malaysian Wedding industry is exactly like what those links have elaborately described.

    Hey Aaron,
I still want to keep my head on, thanks. Why don't you write it? Hmmmm, I did not see you there too. ahahhahhahaha
