It was a rather last minute planning between me and Ivan, the main organizer, with clumsily laid out ideas and outlines for such a spontaneous event that took place yesterday at Bing! Padungan. The reason why we started to have this meet up for Kuching bloggers, is mainly because of the unexpected meet at Sue (click) 2 weeks ago, with Sue and the main attraction and most of the other bloggers had very little opportunity to really interact with each other. And so we decided it would be appropriate to have our own private meet session, just to mingle around, and get to know each other better. We decided to make it private, in order to keep the number small, and under control. There is no reason having a meet with 20-30 people, having the larger group ending up being split into smaller groups, and not allowing everyone to have a chance to get to know everyone. Why stick to the smaller group of familiar friends, since that would defeat the purpose of the meet at the first place, to get to know other bloggers !
To the Kuching bloggers who were not invited, or accidentally left out of the event, I, as the co-organizer sincerely beg your understanding, and forgiveness.

The initial target number of the meet was between 10-15 people, and the number turned out to the meet was just nice, 13 people !!! Some of us already knew each other from previous meet, or other encounters and links through the small limited Kuching network, but for everyone, there were new faces, and fresh smiles to spark up the atmosphere. Though most of us were the original people from the previous meet with Sue, this time around, the entire afternoon was devoted to us and us only, and we have got every opportunity to talk and share our thoughts and feelings freely. I believe every Blogger that attended the meet had the same expectations and feelings in mind, and everyone just plainly had a wonderful time there !
The Place: BING!
Ivan chose Bing at Padungan for the meet. I could not think of a better place, myself, and the place just hosts the right environment for sit-in chit chats. The furnishings were confortable, the interior was cozy, and the drinks were great
though seriously ridiculously expensive Sure enough, we all spent the entire afternoon there, starting at 2pm all the way to evening at 6.30pm. I have blogged bout Bing before (click) and this was my first experience in Bing in day time. I tell you, of all the times I have been to Bing at night, there has never been once the place was not fully flooded with people. This has been such a popular hangout space for Kuching folks. Good choice Ivan !!
Here are the gorgeous people that attended the meet. I shall roll everyone out in my usual individual portrait style, starting with the ladies first, and all in all with no particular order and ordinance. Hmmm, I don't think any other bloggers (not that I have come across any) have done this before, and I strongly believe each and everyone of the bloggers deserve their own one special spotlight. Bloggers are cool and awesome people after all !

And his wild fruits !!
The meet was a hit, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself the entire afternoon. There were genuine smiles all along, and non-stop laughters that we have become the unmistakable noise pollution to the slow and quiet peaceful ambience of Bing. We had plenty of fun telling stories, life experiences, and relating to each other. We could relate to each other very well, since we are all Kuching people, blogging from Kuching anyway. When a blogger speaks, everyone listens, and many give constructive feedback and opinion on the spot, sprouting further discussions and shed more light on the topics. Topics of discussion ranged widely from past educations, ghost-supernatural encounters, PC-gaming, blog-politics (eheeemm) to something as plain as Kuching food. We have touched on heavier issues, and not to be missed out, we also managed to juggle "talking cock" somewhere along the lines!! Oh man, the conversations just rattle on and on for hours ! Thank goodness Bing provide free plain water.
Francis made a grand entrance with his 3 sexy girls, fresh from kayaking. He brought in lemang, some wild fruits, and a boost in the humour !! He even wanted to bring in durians, which would have possibly gotten all of us kicked out, together with all the noise and mess we made already! His presence somehow lifts up the entire scene, and more doze of enthisiasm kicks in from everyone ! This simply means more loud talks and laughters. I guess we Kuching people somehow define our sign of entertainment and being happy by being more noisy. At least I know that trait shows in me.
Right from the beginning, with bloggers and cameras in action...
Somehow, blogging styles in Kuching blends very well with photography. I am not talking about professional photography here, heck you do not need to be a professional photographer to have a good blog with good photographs. You just need a camera, and have pictures to support what you blog about. Pictures add colours and another dimension to the meanings you try to communicate through your blog. They add life, and some explanation words can't describe. Almost everyone of us brought our own camera, so when everyone took their cam out.. goodness.. it was madness !! Not that I am not used to it already, but it still amuses me sometimes to witness such interesting scenario. So many cameras, all bloggers, including me, were so intense and focused on capturing the best moments for their blog entries ! I somehow, feel a sense of belonging in the group.
Here is the picture of everyone. Too bad, Georgette left too early, poor girl has work on Saturday.
To everyone, thanks so much for being there, supporting and making this meet such a special event. To me, this is a beginning of something larger, and the meet did not end there. Getting to know bloggers in real life has always been something fruitful and something I always look forward to. Let us all keep Kuching Blogosphere alive and cheerful always !
Side note: I visited Bing again that same night, with other group of friends. I told one of the guys there that i was there the afternoon earlier, and that guy said he was there also. I asked him if he noticed the large group at the corner end of the room. He said "ooohhh the super noisy bunch of people !! Ya ya... they were so noisy, and they were there for so loooong !!!" I was speechless.
